Western Digital produces a range of portable hard drive and storage solutions. For the release of The Dark Knight Rises in Australia, WD teamed with Warner Bros to release a range of themed products and run a promotion to highlight the Western Digital product range and featured the new dark Batman movie.
Portable storage and backup solutions are big business, with so many competing products on the shelf it was important to grab attention quickly. Western Digital was looking for a way to stand out on the shelf whilst also living up to their entertainment based brand values.
The idea was based around a spin and win game that would let users instantly win 1 of 5 different prizes, including a trip to Hollywood, free WD products and smaller giveaways. This website allowed users to learn more about the product range and enjoy a game featuring all the cool characters from The Dark Knight Rises, including Bane and Catwoman.
Anyone who purchased an eligible Western Digital product would be given a unique code as displayed on a sticker on the product box, the unique code could then be entered into the website - unlocking the spin and win game and hopefully a great prize.
I designed both the website, flash based spin and win game and the point of sale materials including the life size standee, hanging mobiles, product stickers and shelf wobblers.
